Grade Number: M13; $19.4444 per hour
The Engineering Aide 3 works within the Engineering department as a field surveyor (Instrument operator) and CAD draftsman. The survey crew collects data in the field, downloads it to CAD, prepares plans and performs stakeout. The Engineering Aide 3 is responsible for maintaining equipment and the creation of base drawings. .
The Engineering Aide 3 works under the direction of the Chief Designer/Chief Surveyor, the Engineering Aide 4, and the Survey Tech 3.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
" Perform topographic, property and construction stakeout surveys.
" Maintain survey equipment
" Perform calculations for survey tasks.
" Courthouse Research
" Download and Import field Data to Cad
" Prepare CAD base maps
" Prepare cut sheets
" Experience in CAD.
" 2 years experience as Survey instrument operator.
" Experience in office calculations.
" Self motivated and driven
" Must be willing and able to research, learn, and apply new approaches/technologies
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Surveying degree. Equivalent working experience or other technical training.
TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT USED
This position requires intensive daily use of computers, phone, GPS equipment, survey Total Stations, electronic data collectors, automatic levels and various other surveying tools.

The work environment is inside the office and outside in City Streets. Traffic at times is very busy and noise levels high.
