| JOB DESCRIPTION | THIS IS A SEASONAL POSITION
Class Title: Seasonal Laborer Pay Rate: $15.00 Per Hour Department: Public Works Bureau: Building Maintenance
GENERAL PURPOSE Performs a wide variety of routine work maintaining archived city records. Assists staff in stock receiving and putting materials away. Assists in the performance of general building maintenance work.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED Works under the supervision of the maintenance technician and/or designee.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Work from established routines, specifications, specific handwritten, typed, or oral instructions.
Assists staff in replenishing inventories in stock room. May be asked to update inventory information in City's Computer system using the Lucity work order system.
Moves boxes as identified by the Mayors office from storage to a secure dumpster. Boxes are emptied. Boxes are then retained for re-use.
Moves boxes that have been delivered to Bridgeworks to the secure storage area. Put them on pallets, segregated by department and the proposed destruction date. Move pallets to proper location.
Assists Tradesmen on various projects as required; may include work on machinery, carpentry, masonry, painting and general building maintenance work.
Perform other duties including those of other classifications (higher and lower) and as assigned and/or as conditions warrant.
Observe rules and practices on quality of work, personal conduct and safe effective and courteous service to the public and community.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: (A) Full-time High School or College student. (B) Valid driver's license of the appropriate classification.
Necessary Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: (A) Knowledge of tools, materials, and processes needed in the performance of duties. (B) Ability to read, write, add and subtract whole numbers. (C) Ability to understand and follow standard routines and practices for described duties (D) Ability to work safely; (E) Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing; Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions. (F) Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, other departments and the public.
